La Mercè dates and events

The city’s patron saint, La Mercè, is honored on September 24, but because it falls on a Sunday this year, the city’s work holiday is moved to the following Monday.

La Mercè Fun Run

Three races make up the Cursa de la Mercè 2023: a 10-kilometer run, a race for people with physical and mental disability, and a race for young people born between 2007 and 2011. There will be three routes, each with a varied mileage, in an effort to foster a more welcoming environment for various types of people.

Adults of any gender and minors between the ages of 16 and 17 may participate in the classic and longest race, the 10K, with the previous consent of their legal guardians.

Shows and concerts

Over a hundred concerts are scheduled for La Mercè on 16 different venues throughout Barcelona. The musical suggestions include homage to Victor Jara as well as the international vocalist Abraham Mateo and the catalan summer fashion group The Tyets.

However, Catalan performers like Lildami, Mushkaa, La Fúmiga, Triquell, and Doctor Prats will take up quite a bit of this year’s performance calendar.
