Barcelona International Community Day

Next Saturday, October 22, the Maritime Museum hosts the most important annual meeting of the expat community and all those interested in connecting with the ecosystem of foreign professionals.

This year’s motto for Barcelona International Community Day 2022 is You feel Barcelona, You make Barcelona. In its ninth edition, the annual event for the expat community wants to highlight the wealth that the international community brings to the city and its contribution to making Barcelona a vibrant, diverse and multicultural city where it is worth living.

Exhibitions, workshops and international networking in Barcelona

Organized by the Barcelona City Council, the event will take place on Saturday 22nd October at the Maritime Museum with the triple objective of welcoming foreign professionals who have just arrived in the city, being the referential meeting point for the entire international professional community who lives and works in Barcelona, and act as a bridge for all those interested in connecting with this group, which brings diversity and wealth to the Catalan capital. Access is free and tickets can be obtained by registering online on the event website.

Almost 80 exhibitors will attend the fair, of which 26% will be the first time they have participated. Assistants will have access to resources and services specialized in the needs of foreigners recently settled in Barcelona, such as financial, real estate, medical or educational services. Another interesting aspect of the fair is to be able to meet, in a short time and in the same space, a wide variety of cultural and social entities, both public and private, which will allow them to be able to enjoy their hobbies and leisure time and integrate with greater ease to the city.

At the same time, round tables, workshops and networking areas will run all day long. All the activities revolve around three main axes:

  • Arrival in the city, with information on legal and tax matters or the functioning of the educational and health systems;
  • Establish businesses or develop a professional career
  • Enjoy Barcelona and interact, with dynamic networking to facilitate the creation of networks of contacts, both personal and professional.

Around one hundred speakers will participate in these meetings and they will be held mostly in English.

Business, entrepreneurship and family fun!

Sessions are also planned to explain in detail the resources that Barcelona Activa makes available to the expat group for employment and entrepreneurship, as well as the municipal support and reception service for international talent recently arrived at the city, the Barcelona International Welcome Desk, which provides personalized information and advice.

You can bring your family and kids along, as there’ll be a toy library service available with different activities programmed for children, and live performances by artists of various origins, such as Japanese Taiko drums, Irish music or Indian dances in the garden of the Maritime Museum.
